Sophia is a native Greek speaker who completed primary, secondary and tertiary education in Greece. She has a Bachelor of Science equiv. degree in Physics from the University of Patras, Greece, and a Master of Science degree in Physics from the University of NSW where she also worked as a Tutor while doing research in Astrophysics.
Extensive experience working full-time as a freelance panel translator for leading agencies and Australian Commonwealth and State Government organisations.
Translation areas include: Medical, Scientific, Technical, Legal, Government, Business, Financial, Communications, Advertising etc.
Examples of projects undertaken include the book and materials for the exhibition "Our place: Indigenous Australia now", held at the Benaki Museum of Athens, Greece, July-August 2004, which was Australia's contribution to the Cultural Olympiad of the Athens 2004 Games, a co-production by the Powerhouse Museum, Sydney, and Museum Victoria, Melbourne.
Sophia takes an active interest in the Greek as well as the English language and literature and keeps in touch with new terminology and all the latest advances in technology and its applications.
